Resignation

Any member may resign by filing a written resignation with the Secretary, but such resignation shall not relieve the member so resigning of the obligation to pay any dues or other charges heretofore accrued and unpaid. If a letter of resignation is not submitted via the procedure set forth above, then after two (2) absences the member shall be contacted by the president, who may accept a verbal resignation and submit a resignation letter (Appendix D) on that member’s behalf. Membership status for the following Club year shall be declared at the Spring Banquet (i.e., General Member, Auxiliary Member, Resignation).

Termination and Reinstatement of Membership

Termination of membership may occur for several reasons, one of which is lack of attendance at General Membership meetings. After two (2) unexcused absences, by discretion of the President, within one fiscal year from a General Membership meeting, the member may be contacted by the President to inquire as to the reasons for her absences. The Board of Directors by affirmative vote of two thirds of the board of directors may suspend, expel or terminate said member for cause. Membership may be reinstated upon written request signed by the former member and filed with the Secretary, at which time the board of directors may, by the affirmative vote of two thirds of their members, reinstate such former member to membership on such terms as the board of directors may deem appropriate. The same process shall hold true for standing committee meeting attendance. Committee Chair shall notify president of members’ lack of attendance at standing committee meetings. President shall contact member to inquire as to the reasons for her absences. Same process shall then be enacted.
